Visit us

At Longsha campsite we encourage our like minded guests to relax and unfold into Kapas time, chill on the beach soak up the rays, go for a snorkel or swim with the fish, either way you can always grab a hammock to snooze those lazy afternoons away in front of a perfect view of blue crystal clear waters and enjoy a sunset or two within the wonderful mindful Kapas spirt, maybe being lucky enough to see the rays jumping about or the dolphins gracefully passing by.

Feeling a bit more energetic.

Snorkel in shallow aquatic waters after taking a stroll along the front of the islands white sandy beach front

Boat trips will take you to deeper waters for chances to see turtles, sting rays, reef sharks amoungst then bigger aquatic marine life around the island in different spots.

Kayak or take a boat trip around the island.

Diving is your thing, visit the Local island dive school Aqua Aqua sports, with there numerous dive sites around the island.

Surfing is your thing, then towards the end of season and through monsoon, you can catch the odd wave’s for a surf at Kapas Island or on mainland and enter the competitions. Look out for the Marang surf community on Face book.

Walking and Climb the steps to the lighthouse at sunset time for an amazing view of the island especially at sunset.

Jungle trecks will keep those legs moving and take you to the back of the island, where you can take a snorkel and some refreshments to make a relaxing afternoon on the back of the Island.

Like getting more involved.

Collect fallen wood for the nightly campfires and learn how to play with fire poi’s,

Learn to play the guitar or one of the other musical instruments around, you can even visit Longshouse with the only Piano on the Island.

Raking up leaves never goes a miss and helping to keep the communal areas and kitchen tidy is a must for everyone of our Longsha guests and family.

At Longsha Campsite we never encourage you to chop any trees, please only take wood already fallen, for any projects or should you choose to do a small campfire. Be considerate about campfire smoke fumes and please, NO painted wood, plastics, food wrappers or cigarette packets to be burnt on the campfire

Feeling Arty or Crafty

We encourage experimenting with woodwork skills and art projects, by  making furniture, signs, or hanging memorabilia mostly all from driftwood collected over the monsoon or from recycled material found around the campsites. We have some painting equipment, small book and onformation library and tools for use, welcoming you to bring your own art and crafts ideas.

Recycling.

Where possible, several accommodations have recycling bins and we try to recycle things from the island and beach cleanup days.

Cardboard boxes can be flat and reused and paper or card can be kept for helping to light the BBQ and campfires.

Jam and Glass jars can be kept for storage or to use for drinks. At Longsha we encourage you to help keep these items during your stay.

This is less than three months worth of plastic collect in our large plastic bottle fishing nett. This plastic is enough to fill
up ten to fifteen black bags. Please help us to do your bit to either recycle these items by dumping your plastic bottles in our Netts or to buy/bring your own reusable filtering water bottle to help reduce this.

Support and Help Kapas community.

You can get involved in the many different projects that happen around the island, like growing coral, turtle conservation, and turtle egg collection, or join one of the island beach cleanup days.

Million star camping.

Kapas island itself and Longsha encourages sharing experiences, and learning from each other, with a willingness to explore life skills in a back to basics approach whilst appreciating the surroundings of a beautiful island and nature at its best. At Longsha we hope our guest appreciate we are a back to basic camping style and we offer a million star experience under the beautiful sky full of stars, if you expecting five star service, Longsha may not be the right place for you. (there are many different budget accommodations on the island you can try with more home comforts if basic accommodation camping is not for you.)

We all hope that you will respect our little slice of paradise and enjoy it in the same way as we do. Please help to be respectful of the island, it’s very fragile and Mother Earth needs us to help care for it in many ways.
